
Indian Railways, is the biggest recruiter in the country. Every year Indian Railways announce lakhs of jobs for graduates, 10+2 and matric pass candidates. Against the vacancies, the Railways receive crores of application forms. The recruitments of the railways are handled by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and Railway Recruitment Cells (RRCs). RRBs are mandated with the responsibility of conducting recruitment to all Group C (Technical and Non-Technical) posts. RRCs are given with the responsibility of conducting exams for Group D recruitment. There are total 21 RRBs and 16 RRCs. Recruitment to Group A and B posts in Indian Railways are done through Civil Services and Engineering Services Exam (ESE).
Railway recruitments are done for Non-Technical Popular Categories, Para Medical Categories, Ministerial and Isolated Categories, Various Posts in level 1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix, various posts of Jr. Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and CMA, ALP and Technicians, etc. Besides, the different railway zones also conduct individual recruitments for various posts as per their requirements.
